While enjoying this year’s 4th of July fireworks celebration, I played around with my Canon 5D MkII taking pictures and video. I fell in love with the beautiful bokeh that I was getting with my 24-70 f2.8 Canon L lens.
The title for the video came from the line of our national anthem, The Star Spangled Banner: “And the rockets’ red glare, the bombs bursting in air,” As I saw the bokeh bursts from the fireworks, it reminded me of this line and the title grew out of it.

That had to be the most gentle fireworks display I’ve ever seen. It almost felt like possibly this is what fireworks feel like for the deaf. Very surreal and wonderful. Thanks a lot for posting it.
