Remote focus control systems are becoming more and more common, but the average price tag is still over $1k. Â Jag35 has announced their own system which looks to be a very affordable alternative.
Their system gives you the option of three different motor types depending on the lens you are using. Â At launch, it will only be available wired, but a wireless version is promised for the near future. Â The best part is that you can be up and running for under $400.
From the video below, you can see that the motor is fairly noisy. Â Because of this, Jag35’s system may not be a good option for narrative shooting when you are capturing audio live. Â But still, for the price it’s a great option for times when you need a remote follow focus.
